Who are we?
We are young Moroccans united by a shared concern: the effects of climate change on our country. As engineers, economists, agronomists and lawyers, we wish to contribute our skills and knowledge to raise awareness among Moroccan citizens about the concrete impact of global warming on Morocco and the solutions that are or can be implemented to protect our country.
Our missions
We carry out synthesis and information-sharing work around climate change issues and its effects in Morocco, through multiple channels.
Our mission is twofold, as we aim to both inform and educate Moroccan citizens on the subject, but also provide understanding and highlight levers for action for public decision-makers and concerned stakeholders in society.
To this end, we publish short articles to help improve understanding of this issue, including explanations on climate science, analysis of impacts and discussions on possible policy responses.
Our values
Through our missions, we place importance on:
- the place of transdisciplinarity as a scientific and intellectual approach to understanding complexity
- ecology, which encompasses both scientific findings and action proposals that form a basis for political decision-making. Understanding it involves grasping a complexity characterized by feedback mechanisms, an entanglement of actors and synergies and antagonisms between different human development issues
Our actions
To carry out our mission, we undertake the following actions:
- inform and raise awareness on climate change issues in Morocco through various information platforms
- work to propose solutions to curb the effects of global warming in Morocco
- collaborate and provide support to actors in Moroccan civil society who work in fields of action linked to Nechfate's statutory purpose
- establish ourselves as a force for proposals for public decision-makers and decision-making bodies, Moroccan or otherwise, with the aim of raising awareness and combating the effects of global warming on Moroccan territory.
